WaterFest 2012
The sixth annual Waterfest is happening tomorrow at the Res! It kicks off at 10 a.m. at Old Trace Park. In the past this event has been great fun with kids’ activities, music, games and more.
An annual event that spotlights the importance of water quality at the Ross Barnett Reservoir is set for April 21 at Old Trace Park. Organized by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality and several partners, WaterFest features educational exhibits, free food, live music, activities for children and more.
- The sixth annual event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m
- The event will feature a kayak race at 9:30 a.m.
- Recycle fashion show for kids at 11:30 a.m.
“WaterFest is the signature event of Rezonate, the comprehensive initiative designed to promote the importance of improving and protecting the main drinking water source for 175,000 residents and businesses in the city of Jackson as well as some outlying areas” said MDEQ’s Donetta McCullum-Weatherspoon.
