We at Merck Team Realty are following our REALTOR organization’s guidance on best practices during this critical time of the COVID-19 “Corona Virus” pandemic.  We are following our seller and buyer clients’ instructions while balancing our fiduciary duty to market their properties and represent them in their home search, keeping in mind our combined safety and greater responsibility to mitigate the spread of the virus.

We are working on adoption of new policies to address the challenges facing our buyers and sellers including but not limited to conducting virtual walk-throughs via video chat, completing paperwork including contracts virtually, and assistance with mortgage and title services electronically. We are advising our home sellers to have household cleaning spray and wipes available at private showings so that agents from cooperating brokerages can use them for their showing.  3-D virtual tours are being offered for our immuno-compromised and elderly clients so that home buyers may tour remotely without endangering our most vulnerable sellers who choose to keep their homes on the market for sale.

Additionally, it is looking more likely the necessity for local businesses to severely limit routine practices of operation or possibly close and for significant amounts of our population to self-quarantine in efforts of viral abatement.

Please consider the following:
Let us support our communities. Consider buying a gift card from your neighborhood restaurant, shop, small business, and service provider. Re-gift it to be used it once this has passed.
– Offer to help those exercising social distancing with neighborly acts of kindness: food delivery, performing errands, etc.

– Please respect those among us who choose to “social distance” and use best etiquette in protecting themselves and their families. We as Realtors recognize homes as cherished places of safety and security especially during times of uncertainty.

Our neighbors and communities could be depending on us but understandably are hesitant to ask for assistance. Let’s take the initiative to keep them from risking a breach of health protocols.
